Statini, the mysterious luthier

There is no record of any luthier named Statini opening up shop in Milan or any other Lombardian city between 1798 and 1818. It is possible that he went to work for someone else; given his skill as a bowmaker, it is likely that this hypothetical Statini would have found ready employment wherever he went.

However, despite years of intensive searching, I am yet to find another bow that bears evidence of this masterful luthier's hand. Il Devastatore, it seems, has neither brother nor cousin.
